Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Maybe Moby but if banning a IP range via one complete node and you just ban 255 possible people. Ok might get an innocent player a few times but most of my bad cheats are from one country. So if I want a stable server then if thats what it takes, that's what I will do if given the chance.

I was afraid you'll say that.
Anyway your options are either banning ISP or whole country. But i guess it wont stop poeple determined enough.

Its so sad that they cannot play a game. I find it even worse that they a) Don't think its going to cause any harm, or b) Don't believe that thier cheat is causing any harm, and that its others. I always laughed when people got kicked for cheats and they came back moaning about the patch. Just could never understand what the hell the fun in the game is if its easy. I mean - where is the challenge?

The worst are the ones that believe its their right, or they see this as a challenge to beat the admin. They forget that they are ruining it for others, or just don't care at all about that. Even worse is they forget that the admins are poeple spending time, money, and servers for THEIR benefit. Kinda cut your nose off to spite your face, but it would be 'rough justice' if all servers disapperaed from the public domain, only to be 'invite only places' instead.

Do you guys not share banned IP numbers or ID numbers and blanket ban the worst offenders? I know some believe in a 'fair until proven guilty on mine' - but then again, for the ones that just come on to do it, maybe banning from all servers who care for first offense is a way forward?

I know, controversial, but as of yet, not one blanket ban exists for Evo - but the system is there if they wish to use it (they share info about players cheating - from nicknames to ID numbers if they wish, but we are lucky and haven't had any real bad poeple to be honest.......)

Most of my attempted cheaters on my server have been changing the code "hardwiring" while docked to sell the cargo they made out of thin air. The 1.1 patch catches them everytime and of course it does the auto kick which results in an autoban with the IFSO. Some of my cheaters are using the gun mods for the Justice MK I's. The only way you can get rid of that problem is to do a client side modification and remove all Justice MK I's from the server files or game, which would take a lot of work that I don't have the time to perform when watching 1700 people log on every day. I have server police like most servers do and the people that play these roles know what to look for when they suspect cheating. I'm proud to say that my server police forces have caught more than 50% of the server cheaters which helps the IFSO out and the auto kicking patch.

I have also found that one or two nationalities tend to be the largest force of the cheating or attempted cheating going on. I have found out through translations that they all are wanting cloaking mods so that they can attempt to create havoc on any server they go to.

For catching unlimited bots/batts trainers, an admin or player alike should keep in mind, for example if they are flying in the Eagle VHF, the Eagle only has enough shield batts for 3 full restores, and nanos are about 4.5 full restores........train your server police if you have them to be watchful at how many times they refresh their shields or repairs on their hulls and you'll catch that problem....

@chips sharing banned folders wouldnt do much good as they just create a new ID number and there back in 5 mins, but if they have a static IP or are all from one node then a IP block would be alot better.

@ Skyevalen this has been fixed already in a server side Mod called LancersGuard. NB the url to the web site in the read me is no longer valid as they moved on to other things. But it does work as I just had a idiot using a beam weapon last night. You can't mistake the sound it makes but he did little or no damage, so gave enough time to ban him before he could even scratch my shields

Well, they have the option to share IP's, i just know that some poeple find that a pretty dastardly deed

p.s - you can always activate my mod for nomads in Alaska, but NOT enable the opening of jumpgates or something...........then just leave the characters in there...........fighting nomads

I use the LG files and they do not stop all Justice MK mods from working, I'd be more than happy to prove it to anyone that thinks the LG does block it all or you can ask any one of my fellow server police which are shot down at least 2 times a month by mods that even LG does not catch.......It does catch a lot of them, but not all of them, about 5 to be exact, and especially not the one where you can mod all weapons to fire at a super high rate and see just the beam of light from them
