Today in the news:
We had a few server bounties placed on various members today, and the scramble was on. Blitzraven was the first to be named, and led our motly group of 6 players on a hunt that ended in the deaths of three or four of his attackers. He was like greased lighting, taking out everyone who found him one by one, and slipping away before the rest could triangulate his position. Eventually though, we were able to corner him, and under a withering hail of gunfire, FooGoo (aka: Extractor) managed to snap off the kill with a quick finishing Missile.
Next up was Foo himself, who evaded the rest of us just long enough for Blitz to catch him and pay him back up close and personal.
Our illustrious admin, Mordred, next placed a bounty on himself, and rather than play tag with us, he stood toe to toe with all six and managed to get a few kills while dodging our fire in pure Meiyo Chie style. Finally, his spider-man routine ran dry and he was tagged by at least 3 attackers at once leaving us unsure of who got the final kill. I might add that my ship was one of the first to go down to Mordred as he caught me flat-footed with a death blow moments after battle was joined.
Shortly thereafter, I decided to bring in the big guns, and switched to my dueling vessel, only to be greeted with my own name on the console bounty list. I managed to take down a few players with a little luck but was finally caught above tripoli shipyard by 4 players who sealed my fate. The final blow caught me by surprise as both FooGoo and I came head to head with missile-fire, and enjoyed some mutally assured destruction. FooGoo once again claimed a bounty (Go Foo wit yo bad self!).
Next up was Stalker, who was maybe just a little too canny - we couldn't even find him! After ten minutes looking for this elusive player the admin gave up and switched the bounty to...
Spinal, who led us on a merry chase until I caught him near the sun with a two pack of missiles and a big grin.
That was all of the bounties (to my memory - sorry if I left any out), but far from finished, we degenerated into a rough and tumble FFA brawl that lasted over 1/2 hour with aggressors launching the moment they were killed and re-entering the frey only to take us from behind. Mordred and Blitz seemed to be everywhere i turned and I haven't the foggiest idea how many times they gunned me down, but it sure was a great deal of fun.
