Server Stats/Information

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Server Stats/Information

Ok im looking for a good old script to run either from an eggdrop or direct from mirc that will allow me to produce realtime information on what is happening on a freelancer server.. eg when people join/leave, nicknames online, number of kills etc.. all these sort of stats... If someone would b so kind as to give me the bare bones im sure i could form the script myself, all i realy need is where to pull the variables from..

Thanks in advance for any advice!

What developement program are you comfortable with.
I have vb.net and asp.net program that can be adapted to do what you your asking.
It would need some pretty simple changes, and depending on your hardware could be updated in realtime, I currently update every 10 mins.

It requires the dotnet framework to run.

you can view a sortable stats page with the info you asked for here

lhuels - I like your ranking page. It looks like we've invented the same wheel... FLstat. Your sortable columns are very good, I've not managed to do that myself yet.

I'm not sure if it was quite what Ra5oR is after, though.

Are those character codes in your link? Could they be miss-used?

Cryogenius-The web page is created using asp.net and just reads the data from an access database the data collection is done by a vb.net frontend.

I will have to play with the frontend this weekend and see if I can incorporate some of what he asked for, the biggest issue would be server performance
if it was ran in real time.

Regulator - Yeah that is a link to download the players file, I'm not sure what problems this could cause. I know someone could possibly edit their file but they could create their own file on their server and do the same.

I asked that only cause I saw where an admin posted a players MP ID on the forum. I think Stinger erased it because it could be used by a cheater/hacker to use other that players accounts. They could use the persons account and get people banned or give away their stuff, or what ever else they can think of. That is just my theory of why Stinger erased the ID. I am not an expert on the topic.

Stinger,
Could you comment on this?

If this is an issue I will certainly remove the link.
Lets see if we get any comments.

Is it actually possible to hack/cheat if you know someone's account name on a server? I mean, has anyone successfully done it? You see, I'm not sure that it's possible, as the acount number on the server is 12 characters long, while the Multiplayer ID is around 40 characters.

Anyone know the facts?

Out of interest lhuels, how long does it take your program to process 150 characters?

Hi, cryogenius

It takes 3-4 secs to process
I looked in the database and it runs 34-37 per second.
