request permission to PK in liberty

from admins of 24/7 Seattle and Elite....

i'll sell my eagle and buy wolfhound with a buddy of mine... since wolfhund is an official pirate ship, and i'll be a pirate player i ask admins to permission to PK others in liberty systems....

of coarse i'll use my common sence and chose a target (not some one in a starflier)....

thank you

What would the point be? If you kill another player their cargo goes with them; it is lost. You can’t tractor it into your own hold. So they loose their cargo and you get nothing. If you threaten them with death unless they turn over their cargo and they give in, they have lost their cargo. So there is no reason to give in to another players pirate demands. I would rather die and loose my cargo then to give in to blackmail. Either way my cargo is gone.
I suggest finding something else to do.

What's wrong with PKing outside the no PK area? why are YOU so special?

Unless your are running some of those cheats, I would love to have you try to take my Dromedary! It eats Wolfhounds up and s*its them out!

Post Mon Jul 21, 2003 10:40 pm

lol.. Dromedary...

There isn't a freighter setup out there that can withstand the meekest of my ships (Dagger).

...and I won't ask for your WHOLE cargo... just enough to fill my hold (35tons) or some cash if you'd like to propose a bribe... Dying is your choice, make it wisely...

lol... it eats AI

Given a choice between dying, and loosing my cargo, or giving up my cargo I would rather die. Particularly if you're stupid enough to use missiles. It would be much more satisfying to deny an idiot my cargo particularly considering I will loose it either way.

if u have a choice b/w losing 70 units of cargo or 250 units of cargo (if u fly a big freighter) or like 10 units of cargo if it is a rhino instead of 80 units of cargo (and if u bought it on your last cr), which one would u chose?

Freight haulers that are strapped for cash might be willing to give up a portion of their cargo since the loss would hit them hard. However, the majority of freight haulers already have a nest egg set aside as insurance against losing their cargo on a run. And losing a load of cargo isn't that big a hit anyway since the profitable trader will buy low and sell high.

The idea of some extra challenge in the form of piracy is a cool idea, but not for Liberty. Freelancer MP works best IMO with a PK-free zone for new players.

I don't think Holiday can grasp the concept of choosing between losing 70 units and 275 units. Also, in my opinion, the Liberty Rule is absolutely unnessary, unless you have an existing problem with persistant noob killers. I think a "Keep it Reasonable" rule works MUCH better, unless you have an immature admin that is trigger happy on the Ban Gun.

I have two college degrees. I understand a lot of things.
I would rather loose all of my make believe play money and deny some pimple ridden idiot the satisfaction of taking what is mine.

That the problem with frieghters pilots. They all know they just lose a couple units of cargo and respawn back where they got the items from so why give in? I can only think of 3 possible solutions:

1. Death penalty is altered to make giving up some of your cargo the better choice between dying.

2. Players leave some of their cargo behind when killed.

3. Frieghter pilots start doing some minimal RPing and imagine they do not have unlimited lives and that the one ship they are flying is the only life they get.
