Contact Console?

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Contact Console?

Yesterday, while playing, the CONSOLE came on, saying; "Anyone notice the lag?", or something to that effect. I happened to be mining some copper, a few clicks prior to arriving at my mission waypoint, at the time, and did notice the tractor beam taking a long time, prior to Console's question, but it had become normal before his question. (A cheater had been booted off, so I figured he had been causing the lag). Anyway, Console said; "You guys know how to talk to the
Console, right?", (I had answered on the system channel, apparently not getting through). The Console says; "Use the down-arrow, 'til you get to console."
Down-arrow didn't do anything on my machine. Then Console says "This is useless"- and turned off the server. No biggie-worst case a failed mission. WGAS. Point is: How does one contact the CONSOLE?

Up arrow should 've done it. (In chat mode 1st, of course)
You map anything else to that key?

I'd not play on a server THAT fickle, BTW.

Well, genious that I am, I figured it out for myself, while you were telling me!
Anyway we might have helped some other poor lame out there! As to the fickle part, I've already stated my thoughts on the unsung heroes that put up with hosting a server, in another post.

pushing up or down while the chat window is open will cycle you through all avalible chat modes, including private chats. Useful for responding to someone's PM and not wanting to permenatly switch over.

To make it really really simple for anyone else unsure.
Press ENTER button to open up the chat box.
Automatically set to system, but if you press the up arrow (or down) you can scroll through everyone one the server- which includes the console (green box - white writing). Now type in your message and hit enter to send it. It will come up WHITE on your screen instead of the usual blue - and NO - no-one else will seee the console message you sent. That clear enough for anyone to understand?
