Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

''Flstat'' Queries...

Hey, I'm building the **UK Server** website and we've decided to try out the 'Flstat' program that displays players statistic on a particular server, which is available on the downloads section of this website.
I tested the program out on my computer with my own make-shift server with only one user. Worked in an instant and brought up a lovely table with the users stats.
So anyway, after I'd set it up how we wanted it, I sent it across to the guy who runs the server. He has alot more users, over 2000 now, and the Readme files says it does take a while and put a heavy load on the server, but we've tried leaving it for 2 hours and it still hasnt finished.
Should it take this long to process 2000 accounts? If not, then what are we doing wrong?

Cogen,

Firstly, make sure that you are using version v1.0a , as the previous version 0.9 had a bug that would cause it to get stuck on accounts that have no characters.

I would expect that a Pentium III would take around 2 minutes (not hours) to do this may files, longer on slower machine. If it is still taking longer that you expect, then perhaps you have a corrupt character file. The counter in the window should be increasing at a steady rate.

Yeah, thanks for the help, but just after posting i found the link to v1.0 on another thread. I sent it to the creater of the server and it finished in 3 minutes flat... much more satisfactory lol.

Did 1.0 only come out today? Looks that way from the dates on the download page and home page
Anyway, it's a great improvement from 0.9 Thanks for it, its very useful. Do you expect you'll be able to find a way to limit the number of accounts it processes? At the moment out html file is about 900kb and i had to edit the result manually in notepad to only display characters above rank 25.

I've got a new version that I need beta testing - new features specifically aimed at large servers (like Cogens) with lots of accounts. More information to follow, so stay tuned to this forum...

Cryogenius, look forward to seeing it.. all those acounts scanned, in under a min... good stuff,. helped spot a few recluse millionares, (only visited one base)

Likewise... the ability to publish the stats for players to see is just a bonus!

The REAL value of this tool from an admin POV is that the money cheats stand out a mile!

the new version has options such as, only display acounts that have been accessed in the last 14 days, or rank 25 and above plus other... tis v cool
