I could not refrain from replying to this one.
The Elite Server Adminstrators are partial to no one. We have incorporated some spys as helpers on the server to be of assistence simply because we can not spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in-game (

Since they serve as our eyes and ears when we're not there, they have are given our quickest attention when it comes to checking out cheaters/modders/hackers etc reports. Does this mean they are given any preferencial treatment?
No . There certainly is a level of trust granted to these spys, no question. BUT they all know this trust is a fine line and if they are busted trying to do something underhanded to get someone banned without just cause, they will suffer worse consequences than a simply banning from the server themsleves. Public flogging comes to mind.
With power comes great responsibilty, and this knife cuts both way for the Admins and the spys.
We highly encourage others who frequent this server to report any 'anomolies" theat might be considered cheating. We have email addresses posted on the server and various other places so finding where to send information doesn't take much legwork. But EVERY single report is checked out personally but one of the admins, cross-referenced if possible from other sources and gone over with a fine tooth comb if there's screenshots involved. (We know screenshots can be "altered" we're not blind idiots). There are a variety of way to deterine if a screenshot has been altered folks.
Look, we can't please all the people all the time and we're 100% sure during chatter some of these spys are saying things that might indicate they have some sort of insider track to getting someone banned. If that chatter stops a mod/hack/cheat then the means justifies the ends. With the amount of time the Admins spend on verifying inforomation sent to us, the community as a whole should be comfortable in the fact that there are VERY few Admins that have a finger on the ban button....not a single one of them are these spys.
Look, we have been at this Elite Freelancer Server Admin job since WELL before the game went public (we were all beta testers). We all share information with each other damn near daily (sometime hourly) and we're starting to share info with other server admins (
See here . We have been continually testing new tools to help us do our jobs and have at our disposal the best available helper programs to maintain a Freelancer server, bar none. We also do this as a labor of love and to be honest I think we're doing as good a job as anyone else out there. Are we prefect, nope, but we try to be the best and keep the best interest of the entire community in mind when we react, regardless of
where information comes from.
