New account creation causing program crash?

Has anyone encountered frequent instances of the Freelancer Server program crashing and a corresponding folder creation time preceding the crash within a minute or two? Oftentimes (75%) there is nothing but the 'name' file residing in the folder. Other times there is a character file, but with a much later modified timestamp. My idea? theory? is: Something in the creation of the account crashes the program, and some people just never come back (no character) while others log back on and continue (character saved later). If anyone has any ideas which files are siginificant in the creation of the account and/or the first character, this might be helpful.

Delete the ghost accounts, that will help the server stability some. Ghost accounts are the ones you see with listed MP ID's and no name directly below them when viewing the accounts thru the console. Labor intensive, but worth the tweak. The only affect this has on the client is when they open the global server, it just won't show the server as visited. Not a problem.

Ja Stinger, I took your lead in another post of yours a couple weeks ago and pared out about 200 ghost accounts. Specifically this time I'm talking about someone creating a new account, and the server crashes. The time stamps on the folder creation and the crash times are in sync, and I can't understand why.

Replace that word with 'cheaters'

The Freelancer community seems confused about words.

Cheater: Someone using modified files on an unmodified server to give themselves an unfair advantage
Modder: Someone using modified files on a server with the same modified files therefore leaving the game balance intact.

A mod is not a cheat unless a cheater is using it.

I completely disagree with your assessment Squall Loire because regardless if the server is mod free or allows mods, it's still going to be more load on the server than if it was clean...period. Also, please reduce your sig pix, it's nice but WAY too large.
