If all you want to do is trade, then you could just play the single player game, then when you want to duel with something with higher intelligence than a snail, play online.

Personally I don't think there are enough aggressive humans out there that raid peoples cargo, thus making it even more of a challenge to make your way up the food chain.

I see that with more aggression comes grouping, fleets of trade ships supported by some heavy and light fighters, being attacked by a pack of pirates, and huge battles ensuing. Would really make for some spectacular gaming.

Perhaps my visions need their own server mod, where you have to identify what faction you are a part of when you join, and then you are grouped with all ships of that faction, and are obliged to destroy ships of non-allianced enemy factions.

However, one thing is for sure, why oh why did they make the group color pink? Ya got green for friendly, red for aggressive, white for neutral, yellow for talking, and PINK for grouped... what about a nice shade of blue, be it aqua, teal, or cyan, why pink of all things!

Theres already a mod like this. Its called Frostworks Version 2 mod. www.frost-works.com

I don't have a problem with PvP. I have a problem with punks dock camping Manhatten killing noobs for kicks.

Perhaps the best solution would be a mod that lets admins turn PvP on/off
on a system - by - system basis.
