da patch

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

da patch

it's a joke.. just like 5 years writing a game is a joke lol fack it guys.. been good but this reminds me too much of valve and all the work they put into thier own anticheat only to have it fail cause they were morons.. has'nt anyone even considered punkbuster? fix the code so the servers don't overflow and hire the guys who actually know wtf they're doing when it comes to cheating.. I'm out

I know this thread is about the patch, but you hit a good point too:

5 years for a game like this!

I guess I expected much more after 5 years of programming. A universe much larger like Elite before, and that was on a commodore 64!! It had 8 MAJOR galaxies with about 500-750 planets each. And that was on a computer with 32Kb RAM !!

Missions the same: expected more difference than shoot this, and shoot that.

Guess no-one thought that anyone could enjoy a freighter too. No missions for freighters and LVL7 as highest shield?? tssssk.

BACK TO SUBJECT:
Again I say: If they work as much on the patch as they work on the freelancer website it will be ready next year or so... (i will make this my profile signature)

I am tired of waiting for the patch. I am going to program one myself. Because of the nature of how Freelancer is compiled, it shouldn't be hard for a moderate programmer. Unfortanetly my patch will only fix the cheater problem and not the memory leak.

It will be a server side only patch and will work by checking for any major descrepancies in your FL files. It will compare the server's files with your files and if there are any major differences, you won't be able to connect. This should slow or even stop those modders out there.

Just what I had in mind too : Great if you can work it out !!

Just let it check the files for size and checksum. If the files are not the same size and/or do not have the same checksum, it has been changed so it's a modder.

Keep us informed.....

If they work on the patch as much as on their website, it will be released next year or so.
