Frostworks RPG server rules and info

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Rules:
everyone who wants to play register w/ the freelancer roleplay forum (ie post) using your characters name. as a character on this server u have to choose a path and stay with it the entire time.

Factions:
each player chooses a faction. each faction has ship restrictions, ally restrictions and player killing restrictions.

a player must be in a legal ship for his or her faction by level 5
anubis: the anubis is now available on our server at planet pittsburg for 90,260 credits. This ship is considered liberty navy.

Allies:
these are the alliances need to be in character for your choosen faction. all alliances must be at least 0 nuetral by level 20.

Player Killing:
No Player Killing in Liberty space. each faction has PK restrictions.

ex: if i choose corsairs i would be [CORpneumonic81. i owudl be unable to kill any other player w/ a [COR in front of there name.

Navy: [NAVY Navy Units are the primary defence against invasion by a hostile force. if alienas or a hostile foe were encountered. the navy would be the faction to deal with it.

ships: Britonia, kusari, liberty, rhineland, Bounty Hunter fighters. No Frieghters
allies: all police, navy and shipping
pk: cannot kill any police, navy or free trader

Police: [POL Police enforce the law in each system defending trade lanse and jump gates.

ships: Britonia, kusari, liberty, rhineland, and civilian fighters. No Frieghters
allies: all police, navy, shipping, mining, bounty hunters
pk: cannot kill any police, navy, bounty hunter

Free Traders: [TRAD Free Traders are the merchants of the galaxy. stalwartly hauling merchandise to the most dangerouse parts of the galaxy.

ships: all freighters and civilian fighters
allies: none
pk: cannot kill any police or navy

Freelancers: [FREE Freelancers are a little bit of everything. peopel who want to be able to occationally haul some loot, or be hired to deal w/ a local problem. this gives freelancer pilots a wide variety of ships to choose from, but unfortuntly makes them less popular w/ the criminal elements.

ships: Britonia, kusari, liberty, rhineland, civilian, and border world fighters and frieghters
allies:all police, navy, mining, shipping and bounty hunter
pk: cannot kill any police, navy or bounty hunter

Bounty Hunters: [BH the police forces hired guns. when there is a criminal u just cant catch, call the bounty hunters!

ships: bounty hunter, civilian and pirate.
allies: police
pk: cannot kill any police

Mercenaries: [MERC Mercenaries have been around in many forms for thousands of years. mercs are the hired guns of the navy often times. hired to hunt down larger elements and military targets. sometiems hired to bolster a navy formation. but also hired by civilan traffic for escort duty and so on.

ships: border world, civilain, corsair, pirate, and bounty hunter.
allies: navy
pk: cannot kill navy

Corsairs: [COR Corsiars are probably the largest criminal organization in the siruis sector. soem of there ships are the most feared. naturally this makes them an enemy of any law abiding faction. drug and artifact smuggling is common place among the corsairs

ships: corsair, pirate, and civilian.
allies: corsairs
pk: cannot kill corsairs

Outcasts: [OUT Outcasts are the second largest criminal organization, and have allied them selves w/ many of the local hoods. drug trafficing is a staple for these thugs.

ships: border world, pirate, and civilian.
allies: outcasts, lane hackers, liberty rouges, GC
pk: cannot kill outcasts

Pirates: [PIR Pirates are just that. if your on a trip, watch your loot. pirates will hack the trade lanes and ambush a lonly free trader. better hire a merc for escort duty!

ships: border world, pirate, civilian. no dromedary.
allies: none
pk: can kill anyone

Support:
there would be a forum and a server to support the role play. the forum coudl be used for fiction as well as advertising your characters serveices, for example as a freelancer u coudl advertise your services as escort. as a frieghter captian u coudl advertise shipping for a profit. as a merc u coudl advertise gun for hire.
NOW OBVIOUSLY THIS WOUDL BE ON THE HONOR SYSTEM. player would need to police themselves. if the admins are told of an indiescresion, which is confirmed, then the users account will be deleted. im sure it wont come to that

This sounds cool, but how in the world are we supposed to make all alliances neutral by lvl 20?! It sounds impossible to me... many ppl will not play on this server, because they like to do whatever they feel like doing. I am a trader one day, and a lane hacker the next.

Cool idea, but I dont think its going to work too well.

well, the point of this server is to try somethign different rather then playt he same game over and over. it forces u to expand your abilities and explore other facets of the freelancer universe. my freelancer community has enjoyed it. we have recently made a anubis mod which makes that fighter available for 90260 on pittsburg as a liberty VHF. takes a whiel to afford it, appropriatly. and only certian factiosn can even fly it.

as for alliences. its nto hard at allt o make alliences nutral. i played the follwoing factiosn and was able to make them all work

freelancer
freetrader
police
corsair
outcast

grated i havent tried them all, but other frostworks memebers have been see flying most fot he others including pirate and bounty hunter. i reccomend downloading the mod and installign it w/ FLMM and giving the server a shot.

If we were to move the RES to this mod, could we use our tag as [RES ?

The ships we could fly would be Rheinland and Civilian only I think.



EDIT : Our allies and enemies would be based on whoever we are escorting, but usually we have no allies or enemies. We can kill anyone who endangers the person we are escorting, which will usually be the people playing criminal types, does that sound OK to you guys?

this RP mod server is great fun! It's not about how fast you can get to the top, or the best made eagle, or whatever else that can get redundant sometimes, it's about getting into your role and playing it correctly. I'm having loads of fun with those of the same factions.

There's even AI battleships to blow up when you're bored

BTW, it's really easy to get the factions set right by level 20... If you play a good guy you're basically already set. If you play a bad guy, then you just need to do a little work, easily done before you reach level 20. Also since it requires more net worth to advance in rank, you have more time...
