Server won''t accept new players...

I created a lan server, checked the allow new players box, but whenever someone tries to connect to it, the game shows a message like "please wait, this process is taking longer than expected", then after a while it says "your account and password were not accepted by the server".
What could it be ??

it could be a firewall program, also make sure that the allow players to join from the internet is checked in flserver. if you have windows xp firewall enabled you have to open the ports by configuring the XP firewall.
