Admin Fast Gating MOD

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Admin Fast Gating MOD

I put this in the editing forum, but seing as how its mostly designed for Admins, i decided to post it here as well, so u admins dont miss it

heres a copy of the post:

this is a MOD mainly for admins that puts jumpholes to New Berlin, London, and Tokyo planets, near Manhattan, and jumpholes back to Manhattan

I've been running a pure server for about a month now. Although I've read quite a bit in the editing forum, I've only picked up bits and pieces here and there. Does this mod have to be installed server-side? I installed it client side, and all the jumpholes show up perfectly. When I try to dock, I get "access denied" for all six of them (tried both ends of all three). This happens with my old level 38 character as well as freshly created characters.

I went ahead and added this to the server as well. It then worked perfectly. I then removed it from my gaming machine to test it's effect on players who don't have it. My game (client-side) crashed for the first time ever while cruising to the Manhattan docking ring (about 4 clicks away). I couldn't reproduce the crash, so I'd say it was just coincidental. I'm going to attempt to change the location of the holes slightly in order to make this 100% admin-only. Right now, anyone can download this and use the new jumpholes.

btw, i said it was an "admin" fast gating mod, the server HAS to have the MOD to be able to use them, so its mainly for the admins, however, anyone with the same MOD can also use the jumpholes too

Yeah, I should have realized that right off the bat

I've noticed some instability with this, the server has crashed twice since adding it. Although it's probably something simple, I'm going back to a pure server for now. Although your mod isn't in use on my server, it has gotten me interested in modding. I hope to start adding things in the future, and making the mods downloadable at the server website.

i think i might know what the problem is, and it has something to do with the AI using the jumpholes when some is around that doesnt have the mod, i am going to try and add these jumpholes to the NPC locked gates list and see if that works
