Server Options

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Server Options

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the Freelancer server, I have setup a dedicated server but it restricts new user characters to Trent, 2000 credits & starflier, is that the way it is or can it be changed? I found a file called mpnewplayer.fl that seems to have some configurationss in it but changing them doesn't seem to have an affect. Any ideas/suggestions?

i dont know the exact details, but i do know this...

that mpnewplayer.fl file is what you wanna edit... and when you actually make a character, it wont change any of the stuff on the screen when your typing in your name... but it will actually happen...

it will always say 2000 credits, yet if you set it to 4000 credits, your character WILL start with 4000 instead of the stated 2000...

ok... i found the newplayer file, but how do i edit it? what program should i open it with to edit it?

Open it with notepad or some other text editing program, as long as it is saved with the same filename and password. It is also good practice to make a copy of the original before messing with it.
