playing on my own server

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

playing on my own server

I set up my server with no internet access, started FL, went MP, selected LAN and nothing. A blank server/lan list. What did I do wrong?

Hi there,

1) you should start freelancer from command prompt (see readme file)
2) set your IP address to local (127.0.0.1)
3) your server is listening to the different port than specified
4) you might have a problem with the network card (try ping your computer name)

example: freelancer -s127.0.0.1:2302

If server was running befor and it was killed or smth, the new instance will (ususally) not use the same port number in shor time, because windows will release it after a timeout. So try with the next number for the port. I think it can be from 2302 to 2304. see readme file.

Hey Man; Thanks for the answer. I found my problem...a bad case of the dumbass!
I brought up flserver and set everything up, let it load, and then (the dumbass part) I exited from the program figuring that it had done everything it was supposed to.
Everything is working as adversized. Thanks again for the help.
