Hello everyone, i have a friend that i know in person that would like to join me on this server, being that Freeport7 is the only server that i have made a real living in. Anyway i was wondering if there was any way for my friend to join, i can assure you that he doent know how to cheat on this game, and even he did, he wouldnt want to.

Regarding all queries of new players, email us your friend's email address so that we know he/she is your friend. At the same time, ask your friend to email us his/her ID. We will then send a password to your friend. Please note that you will be responsible for your friend if he/she cheats.

If the server is not in the internet server list, one of two things could have happened:

a) The server crashed. We will restart it on the next working day.

b) The server's internet connection went dead. It could come back up in a few minutes or it could take a couple of hours.

Since you moved from streamyx, me on streamyx keep getting ~280 pings. Lagcity :/

For traders maybe that's okay, but for twitch combat pilots like me, no cigar. Somebody shoot telekom already :/ what kind of adsl is slower than 56k meh...

Omega7, we are still waiting for them to release the patch. But they said it would be a server side patch only? I guess we will have to wait and find out.

By the way, edit your name so that you dont have the "-", and you will be able to see your number of posts. When you have special characters in your forum username, it doesnt show your posts.

PS. you can also edit your posts, so you dont have to post twice if you made a mistake in your post.

Nice to see it going along. Btw, I won't be playing much lately, kinda waiting for the mods. I really hope you guys go along with them; "classic" Freelancer is a tad too arcade-ish and easy for my taste. Do we have a separate thread for this?

Something that adds longevity and provides challenge to the higher level players ... they're not finished by far, but the random capital ships mod sound great, for a start. Not for players to buy -- but capital ships that appear as random patrols etc.

Like for example, right now if you have a fully-outfitted Sabre/Titan/whatever, you can fly through liberty space and laugh at the Navy as they shoot at you with their puny lasers. But what if there were cruisers or gunboats patrolling the area? It would make transporting illegal substances more exciting, no?

And the engine components mod (I think the Privateer mod people are looking into this one too) would be interesting. Right now everyone has the same ol' ships, only different guns. But what if you could upgrade your armor? The engine? The powerplant? --> right now all ships fly at the same speed, which is pretty unrealistic, and gives the v.heavy fighters the edge. Light fighters should have a higher topspeed So players have more options to choose from. Faster light fighters... or stronger heavy fighters...

Hmm that sounded like a bad sales pitch LoL. Maybe if we read the threads in the editing forums you'll understand what I'm talking about Freelancer is a great game, but the means for "improving" it is within reach. When the mods are released I'll test them and see if they're "fun" enough to suggest to you guys at Freeport 7 to include them

is there any protection for us newbies with lousy ships? i mean once i got out of a planet, people start shooting at me. is this wat they mean by the skull thingy at the select server menu?

Skull thingy = people can shoot at each other. Well, generally Liberty space should be a kill-free zone. People who shoot at lvl 1's are cowardly scum who daren't pick on someone their own size because they'll get squished like bugs. PK should be for duelling, not bullying. If someone always shoots at you when you take off talk to the admins.

Yes, I'm following that thread closely note the "future plans": gunboats, cruisers, and appearance thereof in random missions. Hee hee. Oh yes, don't forget the equip mod too
