Error Reporting

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Error Reporting

I'm running a 32 player Freelancer server ([OT Freelancer #1) and I'm using a program called Server Doctor to restart the server when it crashes and to restart the server periodically to clear out the memory usage etc. The only problem is when the server crashes I get that stupid 'do you want to submit an error report to Microsoft' message which is stopping the server restarting until I physically close the error window. What I want to know is, is there anyway that I can disable the error reporting? Because if I can stop that then I can keep the server running 24/7 without having to worry about any crashes.

Cheers

In WinXP

START/Control Panel/System

Click on Advanced/Error reporting

Choose your poison.

Cheers for that, but I'm actually running the server on a Windows 2000 box so it's not actually the internal windows XP error reporting but something to do with the server program itself (or so I presume). It's really bugging me because if I can get the error reporting turned off the server will pretty much alwas be up.

Both FL admin programs, IFSO and FLAC take care of these error reporting windows due to an flserver crash. FLAC goes one better by also allowing you to set a variable refresh time at which time it will bring flserver down, then up. I guess to clear memory problems, issues I haven't had for over 1.5 yrs. So if you put eith of these programs in the Startup folder, they will start up when the server reboots and it follows the FL admin programs will reinstate flserver. These programs even take care of the flserver initiailize screen.

You say this can be done with IFSO, could you please tell me how.

Thx

I use FLServerGuard not FLAdmin.

There is one thing within IFSO's configuration window that mentions enabling auto-startup of flserver when IFSO is started. Yet this seems to be different than the issue with the configuration screen of flserver not closing. For both IFSO and FLAC this is automatic and built into the program. It clears these windows to ensure a smooth startup of flserver. There is no option to control it because it must be closed for flserver to finish starting up and get on the FL global list server.

If you are using IFSO and upon starting/restarting flserver this config window doesn't close then you have some other problem. You may not have the same identical character string that's in flserver's title ("FLServer - Version 1.0 Build..." in IFSO's config tab but from what I've seen it will not budge flserver let alone kill any flserver config window.
