Uninstall everything and then reinstall everything. Also, if you are using a mod, which mod are you using?

Also, provide your computer specs, this may also help.

Are you having problems with other games? And try reinstalling your graphics drivers, maybe something got screwed up in those. (Rememeber to completely remove the old before installing the new)

no problems with other games however if i make ANY alterations to game, may that be the 1.0c patch or activating a mod in FLMM i need to do a system restart to show the textures right

"Windows XP MCE" - is that somekind of a special edition - it could be causing probs...

"after you mod it in any way" ???

From what I'm catching from what you just said, if you have changed any material files and used the incorrect format for them...this could be your problem.
BUT, if they are in the correct format, they have to be "referenced" properly in the .ini files for them to display. Remember, formats have to be either .tga or .dds and nothing else. Even those formates have certain critiria to work properly.

by that i meant using flmm for any mod or even inistalling the 1.0c patch and i have discovered that putting my computer in standby also creates this problem and i have to restart my computer
