Freelancer Restarts PC upon supergate

I've recently installed FREELANCER and after the first few missions you get the option of going through the first super jump gate to another system and everytime I begin this trip through the gate, the PC restarts itself.

Is it because I have a 7600 Nvidia card ??? which the game doesn't recognise but then again why it allows me to play before that point.

I never really got into this game until now and I am so desperate to play it.

could a mod please lock this thread, sorry to wate your time just after I posted this, I came across the other thread about turning off Direct 3d sound and it worked

Don't worry about it mate, no point locking it unless folks start spamming - we just tend to let threads go their own way
