How to play on server on my own computer

I posted a question about this that someone answered a while back. I want to play in multiplayer mode, on my own computer. I know there's a switch I can add to the end of the executable's shortcut to make my server recognizable to me in LAN mode, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is, and I can't find the old thread. Can anyone help?

I think that in FLServer there is a "LAN Only" option (or something like that)

To play Freelancer in Multiplayer mode on your computer
You have to have a network card installed in your computer...
Even if you don't have a local area network you still need a network card if you want to play Multiplayer...
If you don't have a network card yet they only cost around $10 and are very easy to install in an empty slot on your motherboard.

OK with that said...

First you have to start flserver.exe
(flserver.exe is the program that allows players including yourself to connect to your computer to play multiplayer.)
click on start - run and browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE
click on flserver.exe then click on open
in the run box you should see "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\flserver.exe"
click on ok
the server configuration screen will pop up
you need to at least fill in the part that says
Enter the name that will identify your server to other players
just put in any name you want such as my server
you don't need to fill in
Enter a description of your server
and you don't have to protect your server with a password
you may want to uncheck the box
Make Your Server Internet Accessible

the first time you do this your firewall is going to ask you if it's ok if freelancer accesses the internet
if it crashes the first time don't worry just start flserver.exe again.

Ok now you can start freelancer
click on Multiplayer then LAN and the name you gave your server should show up in the list of servers...
click on the name of your server and then click on connect

Have a blast...

You don't need a net connection...

All you need is to let Freelancer "know" that there is a server to connect to (in this case, to itself, i.e. localhost) using the -s <ip> : <port> switch. All you need to do is run FLServer, set it up, and then edit your Freelancer shortcut: at the end of the target "...Freelancer.exe" add "-slocalhost:2302" (no quotes).

Then when Freelancer starts, select multiplayer, LAN. Not internet. A single server should appear on the list, with the address "127.0.0.1" (localhost, i.e. your computer). Connect to that, enjoy.

Then your using a mod with a version that is not the same with yourFLserver version, you'll have to edit your FLserver version with the version of themod you are trying to use. Most likely Reshack would be a easy program to change the server version.
