Global Server Connection Issues, Please Assist

For the past few weeks, I've been having constant problems connecting to the Global Server, or to any servers. Even the FL Direct Connect tool fails to work. Also, I can confirm that 1) My firewall is set to allow Freelancer full access to all ports. 2) My copy of DirectX is fine, and has been re-installed as well. And finally, 3) I have re-installed, then uninstalled and destroyed all traces of Freelancer. None of that has worked. I'm using a shared internet connection over a LAN network, connected to a router. Strangely, I used to be able to connect just fine.

Anyway, any suggestions?

I noticed you said that you uninstalled Freelancer then reinstalled.
If you haven't done this already delete your Freelancer folder, don't just uninstall but delete the Freelancer folder.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer
This will insure that there are no corrupt files or left over files that can cause some type of problem.
Then install Freelancer again.
It may even be necessary to move or delete your saved games.
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer

I have had the same issues with a friend. The issue was that the router was blocking the port FL needs to look for games.
