Answers for the Text Problem

I have some problems with the text in FL, the text is to big, so big that there is not enough place for all the text... How can I fix that problem?

Treat others like you want to be treated.

Edit - Made a sticky as this problem still comes up from time to time.

open the game disc in explorer and navigate to the "fonts" folder. then copy all three files into your system's FONTS folder, usually located at "C:\WINDOWS\FONTS".

Still, allowed, as he has provided good info for the problem, that others may be able to use. Allowed this time.

Answering questions is never an issue, it's bumping with spam that is an issue. Good reply by the way, as it is something I have just been IM'd about from my own forums, to which i will now refer them to here

Even thow this is my first post im only here for some file help, but first.

The answer to the text problem is you need the following 3 fonts.

http://www.freewebs.com/server102/Freel ... GENCYB.TTF
http://www.freewebs.com/server102/Freel ... GENCYR.TTF
http://www.freewebs.com/server102/Freel ... IALUNI.TTF

Put all 3 fonts in your font folder mostly located at the following location:
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

Enjoy. ^_^

I downloaded the first 2 fonts and they solved my problem. They were very small files. The 3 rd file http://www.freewebs.com/server102/Freel ... IALUNI.TTF
is a HUGE file. I stopped the download after 14 mb. Is it supposed to be that large?

Hi. I'm running Freelancer on a Toshiba Satellite A205-S4607 that has Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. The game installs and loads up just fine. But when I try to view things such as the credits (on the Options screen) or the opening text box right after the first/second prologue scenes, the text becomes warped, huge, and shown at weird 3D angles. So far it only seems to manifest in places like these, but it eventually crashes the game. Is this the same "text problem" as described in this topic? This problem not only happens on a fresh install, but still remains after installing QuickFix 1.0c and downloading the newest flconfigdatabase.txt. And yes, I tried the "TextureOffset" thing.

If anyone wants to know, I'm running on the Intel Mobile 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family, and I was able to run Freelancer with no problems at all on my old Toshiba Satellite M45-S351 (running Windows XP) that had largely the same hardware. Unfortunately, that computer no longer works, and I'm dying to play this game again. Would anyone please kindly help me out with this?
