**FIX** Crashing/Reboots

Since no-one can search anymore, it appears the topic is cropping up far too often.

Whilst this may not be the real cause, it is a firm favourite complaint.

IF you find your game crashing (and you haven't been using mods at ALL), then please go to your options in the game menu - and disable 3D sound.

This includes:
If your computer restarts at random
Your game crashes when connecting to internet?
Your Computer restarts when going through jumpgates
Game crashes to desktop when going through jumpgates
Game crashes to desktop whilst playing normally.

If you ever have the option to "Send report to Microsoft" after your computer "recovers from a serious failure" - then take it. It may diagnose your problem (I had one for months, finally they updated the page accordingly, as SBLive had created a NEW driver. The old one caused crashes with Windows XP!!) - since then, no blue screens of death.... so give it a try

Many people have been complaining about this (including myself), so it'd be nice to sticky it..

Forget messages for a minute - have you tried disabling 3D sound?

Have you updated your sound drivers?
Have you updated your chipset drivers?

could conflicting mods cause this? i had quite a few active when it first started crashing. it was uninstalled, along with the mod manager, and reinstalled. i saw my dad playing it last night, so i new the reinstall had worked. but he failed to get mods that i was using in my games. i found them, and installed a couple others i had earlier, but none of the trouble makers. none of them conflicted, and it still crashed. i deactivated all of the mods, and it still crashed. i deleted corrupted mods, and it still crashed. here are the mods i had active when this first started.

Razor II
Hyper Weapon Pack
Full Weapons Mod
Realistic Sounds
Realistic Sounds 2
Smoking Cardamine
Engine Weapons Mod
Black Ship pack
Destructable Universe v.9
Enforcer(?)

what is causing this? as i said, before, i currently have no active mods, and it still crashes. is there anything i can do in my profile to fix this?

i have a problem can anibody help my

the problem in solo play is that when i go to jump holes my system reboot

and the problem in multiplayer is that my system reboot when i go to jumpholes
and randomly freelancer crash to desctop

i have disabeld my 3D sound like they said but it doesn't maid any difference

does anibody now a soluchen

i found why my system rebouts
because when i have updated my asus radion 9200LE driver
it doesnt happen animore

im having a problem that i dont see mentioned anywhere, including in google:
I reinstalled twice and the problem stayed both times, its like you can navigate the menus and everything, but if you do anything that actually brings you into the game the window minimises and i can see dxdiag taking the majority of the CPU load followed by wmiprvse, then i get the Send Error message twice, on the second time the Freelancer bar on the taskbar actually disappears.
is there some kind of problem with the nvidia 77.72 drivers? because thats the only thing on the system i changed...

what if it crashes while trying to INSTALL the game?? i crashed my pc now it wont go past the inishlising intalasion screen

if youre still looking at this sticky, i have found that the "destructableuniversev.9" to be a bit unstable, i kill stations then a few seconds later, crash!

Open My Documents/My Games/Freelancer/Accts/Singleplayer/ and then delete any saves including Autosaves.
