Fix for graphic card/ unidentified video card

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Post Tue Apr 11, 2006 9:23 pm

I would suggest keeping this particular sticky active as the quickfix linked does not always have all the vendor IDs. I had to modify mine, for example, since it's a Radeon x700 that wasn't detected even with the new list.

You should submit any videocards that are not supported to the =EOA= via the form on our site.

Quick question for you guys... I just got a brand new computer and wanted to see how Freelancer looked on it. I downloaded the quickfix program, but I still seem to be having video issues.

The game runs fine, but I can't set resolution to 1280x1024 and am instead forced to stay at 1024x768. (It has a 1280x960 option but no 1280x1024)

I have a Radeon 9800xt... any suggestions?

BTW Radeon 9800XT is 4E4A and Radeon 9800XT Secondary is 4E6A.

I have researched this and was wondering about this as well. I have a Nvidia 6800gt OC 256mb. I had a Nvidia 5200 pro and FL worked great. Since the upgrade the graphics are fine but the text is way screwed up in game. I cannot read anything at all even in the menu areas, and I get the video card error as well. I just got the latest drivers and followed instructions to the "T", but I had to go to work...I'll let ya know the outcome tonight when I get home.

That is a hardware problem. You should update your video drivers and reinstall DirectX 9.0c.

0x7146 ATI RADEON x1300

Post Mon Mar 05, 2007 5:12 pm

Ok guys...here is my "unknown" card..
and the numbers in the details section are confusing me.
This PC is a Presario V2000 (Widescreen) running an AMD Turion64.

The graphics card is:
ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M

Here are the Details:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5955&SUBSYS_3091103C&REV_00\4&2C0D4F31&0&2808

I wanted to follow the insctructions regarding using the 4 numbers following DEV_ , but since what you have there looks different, I wanted to check with you on this. The numbers may still be in Hexi as far as I know, but since there is no representation above 9, I'm hard pressed to know for sure.
On an educated guess I put this in the lineup under Radeon:
0x5955 = "RADEON XPRESS 200M"
I'd appreciate the feedback if you have it.
Thanks in Advance.

Major problems playing the game, will boot up, be able to play or start the game (even will happen at the menu screen if left alone long enough). Screen begins fractalizing, machine eventually locks.
Didnt identify my Graphics Card initially , followed the steps provided (6600gt) has the newest drivers.... bah. frustrated.
