Server Question

I would like to host my own server so I have one that I know I can use, and don't have to worry about losing my character because someone else's server went away. Is there any specific software I need to get, or does it come on the disk. I's look in my CD, but I don't have it with me and it could be a bit before I have a chance to look at it.

There are several topics in the forums about setting up and running Freelancer servers.
Check out the complete guide to setting up a fl server to start with.

Go into your program files, the Freelancer directory, and in the folder "exe" there should be a program called "FlServer". Thats the one you want to use. It hosts your server! (If you have mods activated in FLMM, your server will also run that mod) I'd also recommend getting yourself the Ioncross server tool, lets you control the server far more. Its here on TLR somewhere... search for it.

Here is the IONCROSS Server Operator mkV.1 program that runtman is referring to. I believe that V.1 was the last version that Joe Boomz submitted.
