I was asking myself if it could be possible to implement a kind of bullet-firing weapon. Basicaly, it could work like a laser gun with a counted amount of ammo, with a high firing rate, heavy hull damage (perhaps shield piercing), and very fast bullet. It may be possible to change the settings of a missile launcher, if counting ammo on laser is not possible. It also could be cool to reflect the fact that projectile with a very high speed are able to perforate multiple target (on the same line, and it seems impossible without a sdk), and can go very far (not sure it's useful). Those ones would provide heavy fire power, so there must be a limit on the amount of ammo. It can also be dangerous to use it unwisely, since you can hit a friend through a bad guy.
This kind of weapon could give way to some special shield able to block fast solid projectile (doable without a SDK?)
So is this doable, in the actual "state of the art" ?
btw, I may try to do such thing as soon as the game is released in my country...
