push your opponent out of the ring and you get stress free race with an assured win at the end...

I found out what my problem was....

I went thru it once more....This time with the sound off....for some reason...It was distracting me.

I ignored everything but the rings, and was neck and neck with him....Then he made that mistake I heard about when he activates the weapons to attack you...Since I wasn't hearing that...It didn't distract me...I kept on going....I got hit a few times....But they couldn't keep a bead on me....Next thing I knew...There was a cutscene...stating that I won....

Bam..On my way to Doc Q.

this should defiantly be in the spoiler forum. this isnt modding, its just simple cheating. Ive noticed a lot of threads laltely with names like: "how do change ship X to have X weapons and i want 1 million bucks" i mean its pretty obvious that people just use the info to, IMO, ruin their sp or cheat on a mp server.

Might have been put over there...But originally I wanted to find a way to bypass just that mission, because I was having so much trouble with it. I doubt it's really a spoiler...Just turning off the sound...But anyway...I will lock this, or at least request that someone with the authority move it over there, or kill this thread completely.

I wish there was someway to win that race with Hovis, I tried it your way but he had the faster ship, am using the crusader and he still wins. There has to be a way to beat him.

As other people have said....Either get ahead of him at the begining, or just stick close to him...He will eventually falter...and allow you to pull ahead...Stay on the cruise engines....and he will not be able to catch up.

I have a theory...that I don't want to go back and try....If someone has a Wasp missile...Can you fire it once on him, to knock out his cruise engines....for a time...to give you a head start...or will that tick him off....

I have tried everything, he just has a faster ship even on cruise. This is impossible to beat without some heavy "cheating". What I like to know is there a way to modified the m06.ini file to where the player does win, and Hovis ships is slower? I would like to see the rest of the storyline, but if cannot get past this, then I give up. Oh I tried that wasp missile, and gotten a failed mission.

There is a way to modify it...But I am not proficient enough to be able to do it myself. Some of the other people in here appear to be more knowedgeable about hacking the inis.....but I am not....I asked the same thing originally...but got no answer to it....

Some people don't realize that there are others who cannot beat that mission and get frustrated, and give up on the game....I know I almost did.

There are missions that are more difficult...but for some people trying to use the mouse to run thru the rings is near impossible...I got lucky. I have never been good with mouse control games...That's why I don't play FPS games...

wow, i'm considering myself lucky. I came to that mission last night, and beat him on the first try.

He was ahead of me up until the end. I gained ground on when the rings were zig-zagged, and pulled ahead to the victory lane. Cruise engines on all the time.

I'm glad i only had to do it once, I guess I was lucky.

Hmm had an idea, is there a way to modify the m06.ini file to where when Trent decline the mission that the storyline continues as a success showing the cutsence starting at winning the race and etc. ??? (this is what I think would be one way of bypassing the race)
