My Problem (and perhaps yours) **Potential Spoiler**

Okay, here's the thing. The storyline behind the game is quite intriguing to me, so I want t play through the story missions and get the whole story and unlock the gates and everything and so forth. To do this, I altered the ransom mission payments to give me LOTS of money. I meant to just give me 10 grand per mission minumum. Accidentally, I set it to a minimum of 100 million. Yeah, I know, I'm a moron. Anyhoo, THAT worked.

Then I wanted a better ship, so I followed the instructions in the applicable thread on this forum and when I went to buy a ship ANYWHERE, NOTHING came up. It took me to the dealer and there were NO ships ANYWHERE. So I replaced it with the original file and everything's fine.

Now, I'm at a deadspot in the game. I just got run out of Liberty and am at Leeds after getting the good Dr. Sinclaire. Now, whenever I go to a job board, there are no jobs REGARDLESS of where I go. Bretonia and Kusari both have NOTHING for me ANYWHERE. So, I'm assuming I have to trade until I level up. Thing is, I'm impatient. I want to level up right away, so I followed the instructions from another thread here to alter a specific commodity's buy-worth high at a single station. I went to the station and they had NOTHING to trade. I thought I had just messed up that particular station, so I went to another and another and another and so forth. Now NONE of them have ANYTHING to trade.

My question is this:

What am I doing wrong to the degree that my modifications don't work in the game and is this deadspot of mine supposed to be in the game or is my money modification in the random missions folder causing a problem?
