can someone explain this to me?

ive tweaked the bretonia freightet so its more like a streak of light with afterbuners lit. now what i want to know, is how after hitting a planet 3 times and then being thrown out into space, was the planet spining around like a kids top? ive made a movie as well which i will send to the site

perhaps planets are given a mass as well as ships, and since it sounds like you've increased the mass/durability of your ship (because you didn't die after you hit the planet) it's spinning around because you're closer to it's own mass than usual?

ie: it's acting like another ship that you'd hit, but it's being told that it can't go careening off into space since it's got a static position, so all it can do is spin about on the spot instead.

just a guess.

yeah, its rather interesting to watch, maybe someone could make it so planets can move

In the original Frontier: Elite II, back before they had textures, or polygon counts on the order of thousands, all the planets orbited the sole or binary star systems, and their satellites (man-made and celestial) orbited as well. What was really fun was the planets and moons had revolutions as well. Something to be said for code that's as old as some gamers out there...

Frontier: Elite II, Always wanted it multiplayer; thanks, Microsoft[!
