Protecting my Server from "cheater" hence a questi

Hola,

I am running a rather small (10 player) server and would like to avoid possible cheaters.

Now although there is most probably currently no waterproof way to find out if someone is cheating but could someone maybe list me here what can be modified client side and still be used on a MP server of someone else giving the player an unfair advantage over the other gamers ?

I don't want to know how it is done but rather what is possible to be altered atm.

What you can get at bases (ships, weapons, etc), the prices of those things, and what bases they be be found at.

Example:
I could buy a Sabre, for 100 credits, at Manhattan, as soon as I start on your server.

It is being looked into by DA so, hopefully it will only be a month or two before it is fixed...it took NWN two months for the MP problems to be worked out as well, so patience may be a virtue.

doh...

Btw is there *any* way to use the console option of the FLServer.exe ? I mean if there is a command console then there are supposed to be some "commands" for it or ? Can I get the stats of a player ?

I made a post somewhere on which thing are run server side and client side.

There isn't much you can do besides banning them whenever you catch them, but be sure that they are cheaters. One way is ofcourse to check and see if they leave manhatten with a Titan. *lol*

The Problem is I study...now and then...but especially for exams right now...

That means I can't be in game following every player that enters and exits manhattan and not to mention if people knew I was watching they would just jump to Colorado and buy it there.

So I am just wondering if it is possible to filter out (intercept the datastream) the player actions in the game and see if there is anything that shouldn't be happening. =)
