Mod for picking starting planet and faction

I think many people dont want to start at NY and be a Liberaty Navy...

a Mod that allow us to start at other major planet will be nice...
Also.. lower the missle's price (or else everyone will only use energy weapon)
and change the ship selling locations so we can get Very heavy Fighter in major planets

just a little suggestion ;-)

reduce missile price NOOOOOO

the game is so easy to make money and you want to reduce it????????

Post Wed Mar 05, 2003 6:16 pm

Yes goddammit Shadow, the best missiles is 7600 / missile... and 240.000 for the launcher... not really cheap

Post Wed Mar 05, 2003 6:39 pm

Maybe its not cheap...but who uses missiles?

Post Wed Mar 05, 2003 9:47 pm

Thats why it should be cheaper...
I mean when i used 2 lvl 9 missile launchers on my Titan i wasted 14k on time i fired... not really fun, or perhaps not lower the price, but speed them up, u dont need to use any countermesures, its just to use the freeking booster and outrun them

I'm not using missiles anyway as they are crap, i rather HAVE some more conventional firepower, that shooting money into space for no effect
And, generaly, I'm against mods that just change prices and rewards and such, it's hacking or cheating, but not modding ...modding is about doing something creative, expanding the game, not making it a joke ...

But, to get back to the topic:
The interesting point would be to be able to choose a faction, home base and model when you join create a profile. But that probably needs some special code, that probably istn't there ... so, it's not possible ...

With the Pirate Mod all players are still on the same side ... just, this time everyone starts as a pirate ...

What might be possible is to create a profile, change the inis, then create another profile. This way you could have players srtart on different sides, but it would probably require the server to be restarted in the setup process and only be doable in a controlled team game where everyone knows when to join the server and such ...

this should be integrated in the New character screen. Along with different models for different factions. and it probably will be.. in the not so very near future

I know making money is easy for most people. But if each missle cost a few hundred dollars, then you will get poor very fast.. hehe

Why i want to lower the missile's price because no one use missiles. I want to use missile weapons but the ammo are tooooo expensive.. 20-30k ammo price per battle is too much for a newbie like me.

@alpha: and, do you have any idea how this will happen? praying? or do you know about an official mp patch? i don't think anyone but DA can do that ...

Hey, new here. I hope no one already gave the idea (I doubt as it seems quite obvious) but as more choices at the log in screen might not be possible that soon, another possibility would be to create a special "start" system where docking/shooting/any special action on something would change your faction (or reputation). Like... I shoot the Rogue's ship and my reputation becomes green with them and red with Liberty and others.
You could change your mind and shoot another ship easily. Then when you're done, you take the appropriate jump gate (locked for people not in the right faction) and it leads you to the proper start system.
Please don't hurt me if it's already been said or just is stupid, I'm just willing to help.
