You might be able to make light's and engine glow's buyable, haven't really thought about this, the ship color thing might also be doable, but you'd need more skin's for the ship's, then you just make the skin buyable at a ship dealer, it would just be like any other ship but instead of haveing equipment come with the ship, it would have none.

I think for the engine colour you just need to change the stuff in the particle engine. Don't qoute me on this though. I saw some stuff posted about that before.

Yeah, that's what I meant, I do know a bit about modding myself. If someone can fully crack the model/texture format, I'm a pretty good hand at modelling and texturing, although I'd need a good program to apply the tex's.
