creating our own unique ship ?

Need help...
I can make everykind of ship with 3ds since it's my job to model with 3ds or Lightwave, but how to integrate the model, specs, sounds, cockpit,...etc in Freelancer ?
I'm looking forward flying in my own unique custom ship.... !!

well reskinning a ship is not impossible... the question remains if its possible to make an entire new ship.

er..

it's possible, when it's possible.
right now we need an SDK, or to have the textures, models, animations, and whatever else goes into a ship that isn't in the inis, in a format we can modify.

well what we don't know is considerable

for instance, we don't know what format the meshes are in, and what information goes into them. We don't know how the skinning is done.

We don't know what some of the secondary files that belong with the meshes are for, how the mountpoints for detailing are determined and how the collision info is stored.

until we get some of those tools or info, having models for ships won't do us much good.

now, on the other hand there are MORE ships in the game than we can use that are not even used. Tows, miners, repairships, transports, combat ships etc. Why not reuse one of those models? Personally I don't see a huge boon from making new models, but that might just be me.
