keeping you progress saved in multiplayer

the makers of the game have to do somthing about keeping
a players progress being saved in multiplayer, not just in one server
but in all the servers. i have heard that a players progress in one server
can disipear if the server crashes or gets updated, and i see this as a serious
problem to the game, and it MUST be solved!

How exactly can you save your progress on all servers?
There is no central database of servers.
I would mean sening every player file to every server globaly every time someone docks. TOTALY UNDOABLE.

Why must it be solved? Player advancement is local to the server.

If I make a server based on pvp, with player-built bases and npc resource gathering I don't want you to log in with your level 50 cruiser that you got on your friend's hacked server.

This isn't an accident, it's by design.

The guy does have a point though. I freqently play the 10MB-Line server or whatever. I had a 32 player, titan, I had it all. One day I come back online, My charactors gone. Kinda hurts the replay value for me as why put some many hours into a good charactor if you can loose it so easily?

Still great game, and worth playing over again and again
