Ambient lighting

Has anyone changed the ambient light level in a system, i took the ambient lighting out, the sun provides enough directional lighting to the system and it looks alot more realistic, planet shadow's look alot better.

just changed

[Ambient
color = 30, 50, 80

to this

[Ambient
color = 0, 0, 0

in the SYSTEMS\LI01\li01.ini, going to see what the badlands look like, should be still light enough, thing they have there own ambient level.

Just checked, still light enough in the badlands as well.

Overall it's not to dark on objects, could tweak it a bit up though .

How about in some of the darker nebulas where you can barely see anything at all WITH ambient lighting?

Wont know for another 12 - 20 days , then i can test everything in freelancer.

Or you could tell me what one of these dark nebula's are called, then i could recreate it , or try to recreate it i should say.

Look's as thought the nebula thing might be easy to fix or may not even need to be, found this inside the nebular file.

[NebulaLight
ambient = 40, 80, 65
sun_burnthrough_intensity = 0.400000
sun_burnthrough_scaler = 1

So they have independent ambient light.

This is one of the things I've wanted to do, actually. I was digging around for this when the ini editor came out, but didn't have much time since I have to focus on the balance mod. I'm glad somebody else found it though!
