Hey! People!!! Why you don`t open your mods to download?
I think many players can`t wait to fly on capital ships!!!

Shuriken, if your really that impatient to try out cap ships, there is a tutorial here labeled "Battleships made easy". Follow the instructions there and you should do just fine

i dont think a dynamic economy will be fun... because then if u are almost at your goal with your cargo, everything becomes useless there and u have to turn and go all around the universe again...

and one thing, will we be able to buy bases or even systems etc?

that would be cool and then we can maby hire some NPC mercenarys to assist u or something.. but that might ruin the game....

but anyway, if u got yourself a Clan and a clan system, u can war other clans and if you win, you gain their system, and that way it will be more fun to play with clans as u gain new territory...
but in the clan wares u should be able to choose what you fight for... maby a sum of credits, maby for some space in a system or maby a whole system...

would´nt this be cool?

and 2 more things... i think there should be a system with jumpholes to every clan system etc...

and the last thing is: i think that the "mining" should be expanded and u should be able to use mining tools at your "weapon" places... and then u mine from even the bigger astroroids but maby for a longer time... =P..

just thoughts....

Tachyon, I really appreciate you going to all this trouble for all of us. I was wondering, are the larger transport ships going to be part of the Cap ship expansion? Really looking forward to seeing your mod.

The transport ships are probably very impractical for conversion to pilotable ships. Have you noticed that the cargo containers underneath them can be destroyed individually, and that they change with the type of cargo being carried? How could this work if a variety of commodities were being carried?

The "armored transport" ship is probably the best candidate for conversion imo. You wouldn't have to mess with mooring at all. It carries about half as much as a transport, but that's still thousands of holds. To balance that, it has no shields and is not very maneuverable (requires escort). An armored transport pilot would have to travel with protection to have any safety at all.

This brings me to another balance point: neutrality. If you are truly neutral with every faction in a group's space (which is very possible), you have basically won the game, because you can trade freely with no opposition. I think the effects of your actions on reputation should be doubled. If I destroy three navy patrols, I expect them to be hostile to me next time I meet them (and I expect the rogues to at least let me dock at their station). It should not be possible to be neutral with everyone at once.

Also consider bribe costs.

I think you all should look at this mod as an opportunity to choose your ship as an expressive device. When all ships are nearly equal in gameplay, you can feel secure in flying a ship that you think looks cool.

I agree about the factions...it's pretty ridiculous at the moment how it works. Negative faction hits should be doubled or something compared to the positives you get. So, if you just go around killing everyone, eventually you'll be hated by everyone, which IS realistic. After all, people would eventually catch on that you just hate everyone (like the Xenos), not that you're really on their side.

Hmm, this mod sounds amazing... I know it's been up for a while, but I only just saw it. Good work, Tachyon!

Unable to play MP right now, but I think you said it should work in SP too... It'd be interesting to see how it is to explore without just blasting everything with my Titan.. or my uber-Dromedary. I'd love to beta it: [email protected]

Hehe sorry... I've had less and less time over the last month or so. Even now I'm just skimming TLR because I have to leave for a few hours. Progress is going slowly... I still have some things to change before I am ready to beta test again. If only FL had came out a month sooner...
