Blocking autologout in Freelancer?

I've been messing around in Freelancer using TSearch, to try and find the address that forces you to quit once you reach level 2. Here is what I have found; it appears that once you reach the desired wealth, right before the routine that would advance your level the process throws you to that demo ended screen, then you are booted once any input is given. Thus you never actually reach level 2, because tecnically the DMA that holds the players level information is never increased. (I don't know if that is correct, it's just a theory that I thought of by watching the addresses change.)

I'm no programmer, and don't no much about this stuff; so I'm thinking that it would be possible to block (nop?) the instruction that sends you to the demo ended screen, thus the game would continue as normal.

What do you all think, the only reason I am interested in this is my desire to fly the other 3 ships that you have to be above level 1 to use. So it's either stop the auto-logout or reduce the ship's levels.

If its not possible to let the game progress would it be possible to make it so we could earn an unlimited amount of money at lvl 1? You could change the lvl 2 money requirment to something ungodly high so we could play the demo to make money for when the full version hits. Just my 2 cents. I'm interested to see what you guys think.

One of the things I found is your current net worth is calculated during the process; so changing that number seems to have little effect. But I know that on the main forum, there have been 2 people who posted hacks that set the level requirement up. I'd try those, if they are not there I can post a new save file.

I've been looking for those posts but haven't found them. If you could please post a new save it would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Someone posted a few savegames where the ships hold a negative amount of cargo - thus you have a huge negative starting value. You can still buy upgrades but you won't be able to pick up any cargo (you can pick up weapons though) nor can you buy a new ship.

Here is a kind of *Bug* that we might be able to exploit. I have done it quite well. Rhino with 110K cash. Take a mission and complete it. Remember where it is incase you need the location later. Before you land get destroyed some how. When you load the auto save it will still want you to complete the mission. But the navs don't show up. Hence why you wrote them down. On your person icon where you find the net worth and such it should say for progression (Mission). Have Fun. you can now make as much money as you want.

Now a page comes up before for some reason it was giving a can't find it error. Wouldn't load a page. Thanks for checking.

Sometimes the server is screwy. I'll try to upload it to my Geocities account, too. Like I said when I posted them, when I use them it causes FL to corrupt my display when I exit, causing me to reboot. I've heard others say they've used them with no problems, so it could just be my computer. If it happens and it absolutely bugs you, delete the saves, uninstall, then reinstall the demo and it'll be back to normal. It did it with both the FilePlanet and the Microsoft demo.

I think the video corruption wasn't related to my saves. I just got the marketing beta, and it started doing it without me messing with the files (and not trying those saves). I think it was because of having the resolution of the game set to my desktop resolution, because when I lowered it in game, it stopped doing it.
