SUR problem

I have a problem...how can I create a sur file for an already made ship, I must mention cmp importer makes my milkshape crash, and the SUR exporter makes SUR files that don't work....I have a nice little big battleship, with hardpoints lights and everithing but I have no SUR... I tried the method where I copy a SUR from a game ship similar to mine and resizing it but I can still fly through planets, etc...what is there to do? pls help...SUR files have always been a mistery to me

Well I tthank you for the links altough they weren't much help...I'va managed to resize a SUR from a similar ship to mine but not one from the game....I took a starwars deadnaught sur and resized it for my ship and it worked to my surprise...unfortunatley now I have a different problem....not sur related of course....I can't get 10 engines on my ship....actually I need 12 but only 9 ever show up....I don't know why...can anyone tell me what to do?

You've already listed them in the shiparch.ini I assume?
"num thruster nozzles = 9" or something similar, that has to equal whatever amount you have

This problem is easy. When Freelancer goes looking for engine hardpoints, it looks for "engine0", not "engine" as you would expect. Just rename all engine hardpoints over 10 appropriately (i.e., engine010, engine011, etc).
