Cloaking in Missions

NOTE: This is not about making working cloaking devices. My question is something completely different.

In some of the story missions npcs cloak/decloak. Now I want to make new story missions for my mod and I want to know is the entry "act_cloak" can be used on the player himeself?

when you are cloaked you still see yourself and other things still see you. best bet... idk, the sur is what gets hit yes? make a ship, make it almost totally transparent and have a miniscule sur file that would not get hit. And i don't think it's possible, but I could be wrong. do you see the little cloaking animation? Nice to see someone else doing custom missions.

Making yourself cloak in single player is not possible due to the way cloaks work, which we won't get in to. The only thing you might try is placing a regular cloak in the loadout of the ship you are flying during that part of the mission. You wouldn't be able to turn it on or off, but it might cloak you. However, I'll bet you won't be able to see your ship if it does work.

It is possible to make a working cloak (you see your own ship cloak and decloak)
Iam not allowed to talk about it here though so thats all I can say, sorry.

General, your still asking for a cloak if you want to use it on yourself. Npc's can't use it independent of a script like in the story missions due to it being a "Movie" within the game, not watching them decloak in the game. I'm watching this thread and will lock it if it continues on player use of the cloak

@Finalday: I mean cloaking like the Rhinelanders in mission 3, mission 5 and mission 7. Or like the nomad ships in the last mission. But not for npcs but for the player. This is because my mod plays in the year 1491 A.S. where most of the ships have cloaking devices. And the player is an order patrol pilot, so the sory missions belong to his job (at the beginning). And in mission 3 he will have to explore the nomads home system undetected. Which leads me to cloaking because i don´t know any other way how he can get through the system without being detected by the nomads.

If you need to have no detection by nomads, that part should be able to be added to the script, where they don't "See" him, no effect being nessisary. Almost as if they "read" him as being friendly.

Edit - And adding the cloak to a sp mod is akin to using a cloak mod and isn't allowed.
