very,very confused

i just got freelancer yesterday,and i figured something out,i can't use
controllers!

and when i was on multiplayer,it showed that i had version 1.0
and there was supposed to be others... like 4.56 or something

and in muyltiplayer, each server is like a separate campaign
game...so how would i be able to use these ships that people made?

the different versions you speak of are actually player made mods for the game
check the download section of the lancers reactor to find them
you will also need to find the freelancer mod manager (flmm) to install the correctly
there are tons of new things to discover in each new mod such as new weapons ships and even new npcs to fight

can i keep more than one mods on at a time?

Post Fri Feb 16, 2007 10:15 pm

depends on the mods, some change to much stuff and others don't
the mod manager shows the ones that might cause trouble with other mods as a different color from the rest to make it easier mix mods

ok,i got the latest flmm

so,does it have mods in it,or should i download mods and put them anywhere?
or in a specific file?

lol,"cheating is a big NO-NO"
uhhhh, and why should i listen to a talking window?
lol

There's a small handfull of mods with it, but you can go to the download section and download others as well.

Post Sat Feb 17, 2007 10:42 am

i know, but where do i put them at?

and is there mods that servers will let you use?

Post Sat Feb 17, 2007 12:44 pm

Download and install FLMM. Download which ever mods you want. Click on the mod and it will install itself into FLMM. Open FLMM and choose the mods you want. If it shows red, it will clash with other mods you have activated. When removing mods, use Tools/restoreback ups rather than uninstall for mods. It works better.

I suggest NOT using the new FLMM 1.4 beta whatever, but using good old not-buggy crossfire-compatible FLMM 1.31...

ok,now for one last question,

is there a way to use mods without servers knowing?

Post Sat Feb 17, 2007 4:09 pm

With a name like yours, do you expect a serious answer to that?

To play on a server, your mod(s) must match the one being used on the server, or it will kick you for cheating.

If you're this new to FL, I think you should know that 99% of servers are protected from cheaters very well. So I would try cheating on another game if thats what you're here for. The 1% are hard to find.

you think hes a cheater? what tipped you off man? ;P~

sometimes it's OK to just ignore a stupid post guys.

LOL, ya, it sounds a lot like he is looking for ways to learn how to cheat. Without servers knowing, give me a break, there is a "I want to cheat on servers" ad if I ever heard one.
