weapon modding question

is it possible to make a weapon on my server without crashing other players if they encounter it without any mods?
seems most players I've talked to prefer not to use any mods which makes it alot harder to implement them on my server
might be able to make an optional mod pack eventually for things like the nomad ship I added the use of

since that wouldn't work, would it be possible to make a weapon but, borrow info from another weapon that has a description of being unkown and also borrow the icon and attack type from other weapons, without crashing players if they saw it?
would be a make-shift weapon that borrows details from other weapons in effect
hopefully that would work for other players with no problems

When it comes to ships, equip, weapons, and systems, both server and client side have to match for it to work properly. If server has it and client doesn't, then there is a good posibility of crash. If Client has it and Server doesn't, then it is usually detected as a cheat.

sounds like I'd at the very least need the weapon on my server and my client to get it to work then
just need to be carefu making it so that other players can see it as a weapon that's in game already or there may be a crash

saw some hints at it in the way they made the cloak into a gun in those anti-cheat mods I've seen

You can however edit preexisting ships and weapons to exist that aren't used by default ie rowletts revenege Class 7 Nomad Gun Nomad Laser Varients The Class 3 Rhineland Guns Order Guns Javalin RTC and a Cloen of Vengance MK III are unused in multiplayers.

at this point we're really waiting for a champion programmer to make an internal mod downloader for use with flmm. i don't understand why using FL mods has such a learning curve for some people - perhaps they have foreign language distros and can't use the mods, or they have bad connections that make downloading a large mod prohibitive, because even a retarded monkey with a broken arm could figure out how to activate a mod with FLMM

the main problem indeed is language
almost half of the fl players from germany
many of them can speak english others cant and ppl from other not english speaking countries have the same problem

but thats not the only prob... another big prob is that ppl dont really read instructions... when you tell them not to use SDK often their reply is "but i used sdk and it didnt work"

These guys trust MS,
but not unknow software like FLMM 8)
or strange modders with names like Cold_Void, Crabtree ...... (would give a long, long list - sorry 4 all i didn´t name)

I believe a few "certain" weapons that were built but not incorporated into the game can be used if they are enabled. But to make sure only a select few use these particular weapons requires scrutiny as to where they are sold and how restricted they are to aquire.
Possibly, make them so incredibly expensive that only admins and their support group can afford them or set them up in a "kick-only" system that Admins only have access to.

is there anywhere I can find a list of the weapons that weren't incorporated into the game but, were created to be used?
it seems readjusting weapons that are aleadry built in game makes it likely to crash on the client side for incorrect weapon listings

You have to start with downloading the FL SDK and installing it as per the directions. Then once that's done...start exploring the files that have been decomressed. You'll find wonderous treasures.
