Server side only mods Link is not working in this thread.

Could one of the Admins please fix this link?

I would like to know what all can be moded serverside.

As far as i know, these are the things that can be done:
01. Player start location.
02. Player Money.
03. Population zones in systems, added or modified.
04. Paths added, some may need entries in mbase to work properly.
05. New ship types can be added so you can get capital ships working ok.
06. Ships in faction_prop can be modified and added to, including new formation entries.
07. In npcships, you can add entries linked to faction_prop and modify existing ones ok.
08. The AI can be modified in pilots_story.ini and pilots_population.ini.
09. You can add new entries to Ptough.ini, but i think you need the 1.1 official update in order for them to work properly.
10. New loadouts for either solars or ships.
11. Mbase entries can be changed giving harder missions and extra factions at bases.
12. Fuses can be changed to allow the death_fuse (as far as i know, i haven't tried that one).

What cannot be changed
13. No new objects in shiparch or solararch.
14. No new objects for existing names in the systems, you can't change the reputation of objects already in the game either.
15. No new fields, you can take damage from oxygen fields, but they don't show up.
16. No new goods, equipment or weapons, or any market changes.
17. No modifications to how equipment, goods or weapons work.

Not sure about
18. Not sure about changes to initialworld.ini or empathy.ini.
19. Not sure about formations.
20. Not sure about LootProps.ini or diff2money.ini or VignetteParams.ini

I made up a mod a while back called Broken Oath that was designed as pretty much a server side mod. It has some entries in the market files for equipment and ships that only work for modded players, other than that it is server side. Pretty small too at 1.2Mb.
If you are looking into server side mods you might want to consider getting FLShell if you haven't already. If you need it i'll just mail it to you as it seems to be only available on a very big download at the moment.

If other people could fill in the gaps or correct me if i am wrong then it would be appreciated.

We have FLShell running, and I also have it up for D/L at filefront. Because it took me forever to find it. So I thought others might want it in the future and put it on File Front.

Note on #20 LootProps.ini we were able to change this serverside. We wanted to change the Shield drop rates after we added player shields to the NPC's and it worked.
