Large Ship Non-Combat Evasive

Serverside can I add a evasion block or sense to Transports and Battleships so they don't nail the atmosphere while they are not in combat ie the ship slows down and slowly turns or thrusts away from the planet (as while an occasional hit of a npc that is fighting makes some sense hitting when no hostiles are around makes absolutely no sense). While I could move the zone away from the planet it would only decrease the issue or stop it in one place? (Liberty Ale isn't good enough to make you not see a planet I don't think)

Check the Mass stats of your ships and the type engine used on them. Often, the engine used on a ship determines its responsiveness to a given situation. If the engine and ship mass is improperly balanced, you can get a ship that accelerates slowly/slides/overshoots/and takes a few thousand kilometers to stop even when using reverse thrust. (like real time space physics). I did this with my Nautilus-S1 when I put Liberty Cruiser engines on it when it was orignally equipped with Reinland Cruiser engines.
On the other hand, you don't want a big ship to handle like a fighter or even the littlest rock or slight nudge will tip the ship and send it spinning.

I found out, that by using the Mass stats of a Liberty Dreadnought with the engine/engines of a Reinland Cruiser (for my BIG ships) this balanced their handling very nicely. Now most of my big ships are rock solid when sitting in space and you see the sunday pilots "bounce" off it when they colide.
Also, they stop in a reasonable distance from docking rings. I've also noticed with this set up, that once you hit "dock", the ship will do what ever it takes to dock..including backing up and realigning.
