Self Destruct?

Ive been trying to figure out how to install a self destruct button onto all ships in a mod. However i dont know how

i thought of having a trigger that explodes all teh ordinance in your cargo but im looking for something a little more surefire, adding a blast radius that does XXXX amount of damage would be cool as well. Any suggestions or a tutorial i missed

well, usually modders make those with minedroppers, but i suppose you could use just about any equipment item that drops stuff like countermeasures, missile/guns, torpedos, etc

you could also make a purchaseable-bomb i think
just add this to a commodity:
tractored_explosion = (explosion name)

i've known of this one for awhile, but have yet to test it

What about ejecting an escape pod while your ship is in direction of a bigger ship/station? I think that should be possible if you are able to make components to your ship, letting the escape pod being the root and the selfdestuct thing destroy the second root component.

I guess you could make som 'selfdestruct minedroppers or missile launchers'. I aint sure if that will work however.

Hehe self-destruct is VERY useful in MP. A good self-destruct should have a huge AoE (500+-), insane damage and preferably long-lasting effect (radiation from reactor). Just make sure you kamikaze in the right place. BTW, how do u make an explosion last longer? The [Explosion sections have a lifetime = x.xxx, y.yyyy value, but I don't know how to extend an explosion for, let's say, 5 seconds of area damage. Sorry for the off-topic.
