devices that use ammo and add energy

Is it possible to have a weapon, mine, cm, torp, or whatever that uses ammunition have a negative energy drain so that it adds energy instead of draining it? Thanks...

If I remember correctly freelancer doesn't handle negative values and tends to increase the damage if you place a negative value in there...

But don't quote me on it...

With damage I believe you right, but when it comes to power_usage is this not how they do it for power enhancers that increase the rebuild power of a power plant.

they use modified shields - shields, thrusters, engines and powerplants are the only items that can use negative numbers

I have had some xp with negative values myself. On weapon_eqiup.ini theres explosions where you could see a lines like this:

impulse = 0

If you increase this objects will get pushed away from the centre of the explosion. This is really cool for Asteroid mines with recharge rate at 0.01000, as your ship get constantly getting pushed away from the Asteroid mine. So what if you make a negative impulse value? Gravity? The thruth aint that well...

Thanks a lot, and sorry if I took so long to reply, but I haven't had Internet access for the last couple of days.

I was thinking of using H-fuel to power the ship using a negative energy-drain weapon that "fires" dud H-fuel (not the commod) canisters, but based on the replies I think its impossible. Oh well.

BTW, when you dock at a station/planet/whatever, do your shields/energy recharge? If not, i can make all power generators have zero recharge to make them into batteries.

Thanks, once again...

I think Freelancer can handle negative values because I've created a weapon that had 680 (or whatever) hull damage and only 1 shield damage.
