Massive maze of systems

Hey all,

I have mod lots of mods, mostly advanced AI (NPC) mods.
I also was able to erase any systems (except Li01 (New York)) and to fill the universe with completely new systems.

BUT, I want more. My idea is to fill almost any spot left on the nav map with a system. Empty systems, filled with a few planets, suns, nebuleas, and other static solars.
Take a look at this: java_connecties_grafisch.JPG
and this: java_connecties_v2.JPG
It is an tool I programmed in Java. It generates random connections between many of the systems. Exactly 283 systems. (342 - 1 (Li01) - 58 (already existing))

my question is: is the engine of Freelancer strong, powerful and stable enough to manage 342 systems?

The Solurus Systems Freelancer Mod version 1.150 has 396 systems and 70 new factions. Thousands of new planets, 12,354 bases and 300 ships.
Here's their website and forum site, if they are online, sometimes they don't seem to load...

So many systems.. that players could spend months online and never see each other.

... not to mention the high server load and the massive lag

the fact is that only 58 of the systems are habited. The others are unexplored. Therefore, I think most folks will hang around in the main systems. (Because of the presence of NPC, missions, dealers, ...)

Actually all 396 are inhabited.
