tradelane speed and speedometer

Hi again!

q1, I would like to change the tradelane speed. I know that its possible but how?
q2, Is it possible to change the speedometer to show more that that stupid 300?

Thx for any feedback.

Both are possible, but they require a value swap by using a hex editor, which can only be implemented on a no-cd patched version of the exe, and thus cannot legally answer the question, as people can illegally own the game because of it.

The answers are here in the forums somewhere, I found them, so you might too if you look hard enough.

Thanks. But im a bit sad. I own an original copy of the game, but i also understand your point somehow.

Just don't distribute that in a mod, because if you did it would be illegal as anyone downloading and applying it would recieve an illegal version...

So what about the countless mods on here that have that included and are available for download?

Yes really, there are tons of mods with the no-Cd EXE file in them.

Well, there shouldn't be... lol

Technically TLR could get in trouble for hosting those...

they're alright if you're only using them to improve performance. Which most mods do.

Bit of a bold statement saying there shouldn't be modified exe files for download. 99% only allow the correct speeds to show up for tradelanes and cruise engines, since thse minor mdifications don't alter gameplay or the game code itself, it hardly infringes the EULA. It's a bit like saying you can only mod this part of FL but not others, if you're that concerned about touching the code, then don't

I have a budget-version if FL which comes standardly as NoCD. What´s with that?
