cmp and mat exporter questions....HELP!

I apologize if this has been addressed before, but i couldn't find it searching. Anyway, i PAID FOR my copy of Milkshape, and i want to upgrade it to the latest, but when i do, i try the cmp and mat exporters (the version i updated to of Milkshape is 1.7.7) the program crashes. Is there an updated cmp and mat exporter i need? If so, where are they and what, if any, version do i need? I can't stand version 1.7.0 of Milkshape anymore!! So please, help!

Thanks in advance!

@ baene, I use 1.7.6 for the CMP Importer but 1.7.7 & 1.7.8 crash if it's installed, I use 1.7.8 for exporting.

It's a problem with the Importer plug-in it's incompatable with newer versions of Milkshape.

I also paid for and am using 1.177a and have had no problems with either importer or exporter crashing MS ..... however I still hit the limitation with imoprting models with a high polygon count ( a known Milshape limitation as far as I am aware).

1.7.6 is the last version that has no real problems with our plug-ins, there's a thread in the 3D modelling forum about the problems with 1.7.7 & 1.7.7a.
1.7.8 will crash on startup if the CMP importer is in the MS3D folder, it's something i've already drawn to Mete's attention and I've even emailed Kurt the plug-ins creator, but that was a month ago and I haven't heard back from either of them.

lol polyfiller if your hitting MS3D's poly limit I hope your not trying to get those models in to Freelancer.

Bejay ... I know what you mean (server performance) ... I tend to steer away from the larger models ... I don't create any from scratch I just convert from SFC and Bridge commander. What is strange is that the Bridge Caommander models tend to look better (higher res textures) .... but almost always tend to have fewer polygons ... so they don't cause MS3D to crash.

I don't really have any concerns over models performance ... I run a local LAN server with a very limited number of players (Family) ... so I look for lot's of player v NPC action (kinda like playing halo in Co-op mode) ... and my server never really shows any signs of excess strain .... even with lot's of beam weapon use.

I guess I have a very specific use for FL which enables me to build in lot's off stuff which causes others problems where they are intending to run servers with larger numbers of players. Stil ... keeps me happy anyhow :-)
