WEll from looking at the movie I would have to say there are nebs back there, right?
Well if you made very huge ones and they are far far away, then Freelancer will start to cut it out. Moving it closer to you will make the problem a little better.

Also it can be the sun, if a sun is about 255 k out then it will start this fading thing which can ruin the back ground. This is the same with planets, nebs, or any other large object.

and you fix this by......

please dont say making a smaller system

Post Sat Jun 10, 2006 1:36 pm

Sadly yes, you could fix this by making the system smaller or you can live with it, that's the price of having a big system.

I also forgot to add on the list that planet rings can do this too if they are big enough.

There is also a way the edit the EXE file and stop this from happening, but it comes with very bad side effects.

How small do i need to go???

stay with in xxxxxx K on center of system??

Post Sat Jun 10, 2006 1:51 pm

i would say start from the norm 100000 or what ever it say it is in FLE, then work your way up untill you start to see it again, then go back

100000 k? You are way off.

You start to see fading when an object is at least 255 k from a person's view. So a system with objects closer then 255k where they won't do the fading. I would do 240 k just to make sure.

ok well i am doing the system this time with a total width of 320000.....

so unless your all the way to one side you should be fine... i hope
