But doesn't it have the ids name, nickname and realname all in one foul swoop (for some items anyways)?

Unless I have an outdated version, or my eyes decieve me, the only things that show nicknames is bases and factions, everything else uses IDS names (that have friendly names right next to them, i.e; Lancer Missile Launcher).

Is there more than 1 version lying around?

Btw Chips, I'm done revising my introduction to modding, I just need someone more knowledgable to give it the once over and see if I missed anything... Are you busy with studying/exams right now?

Well, this is weird, I just downloaded it from this site, and everything is correct, all the nicknames etc. But several weeks back when I first started browsing this forum I got the database from somewhere, the file I have here on my desktop has no nicknames for equipment etc, so I decided to go ahead and download it again just to see if I was just seeing things.

I have uploaded the zip of the file I have to our clans ftp folders, here is a link:

Thats probally an original early version. There are 2 on TLR, subs, and another one, both have identical data, just differnt fonts.

The thing that worries me is I think I got it from here, in one of the starter threads *somewhere*.
